Higher Education and Careers Enrichment
Sacred Heart students are given the benefit of guidance and advice from their highly experienced Sixth Form team on a choice of university, college of further education, school leaver programme or employment.
In year 12, students begin their higher education and school leaver preparations during Futures Week.
Using the ‘Unifrog’ post 18 options platform, students are able to explore school leaver opportunities and research universities and courses.
We have a dedicated and comprehensive UCAS programme, with a range of external speakers who provide information and advice to students on making appropriate and ambitious choices. Mock interviews are organised for those students who require them, and all students attend two university trips with presentations on student finance and applying for student loans and bursaries. During Futures Week, students meet with a range of professionals to discuss careers in a range of industries. Pupils are guided by qualified careers leaders to help them plan their pathways. With our dedicated Sixth Form Team, Employability Coordinator, well-stocked library and online Unifrog post 18 portal, Sacred Heart offers a comprehensive service to each of our students. We believe that this approach is in the best interests of our students and is best illustrated by our destinations.
