Southwark Schools Chess Tournament 2023
Sacred Heart hosted the first Southwark Schools Chess Tournament on Friday 3rd March 2023
Sacred Heart competed against Notre Dame, St Thomas the Apostle and Ark All Saints. Each school played a total of 21 games with the results as follows:
1st Sacred Heart School 18wins, 1 draw
2nd St Thomas the Apostle School 14 wins, 1 draw
3rd Notre Dame School 6 wins
4th Ark All Saints School 3 wins
Sacred Heart students showed great sportsmanship towards the other schools and played with great confidence. Our year 9 superstars Dyllon Ramos 9M and Justin-Lloyd Casilagan 9M won all of their games, showing our 6th form team that they are ready to step in to their shoes when they leave year 13 this year. It was great to have one last big tournament with our 6th form chess team before they head off to University after the Summer holidays. Sacred Heart Chess Club will miss them all dearly.
