EXAMS 2019-20

The coronavirus pandemic has obviously had a huge impact on both the public exams (A level, GCSE, Cambridge Nationals and BTEC) and the school’s internal assessment procedures (or ‘end-of-year’ exams).

The Year 11 and Year 13 will receive their GCSE and A level results, despite not having sat any public exams. This also applies to GCSE Religious Studies for Year 10. Year 13 will be able to collect their results from school on 13th August, and Year 11 on 20th August. Year 10 will receive their result for GCSE Religious Studies when they return to school in September.

Ofqual (the body which oversees and regulates all exam boards) has produced a video letter for students which explains how their grades will be awarded. It can be found here - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/awarding-qualifications-in-summer-2020/letter-to-students-summer-2020-grading-bsl-signed

The process used to award the students their grades is also fully explained in the following documents - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-cancellation-of-gcses-as-and-a-levels-in-2020/coronavirus-covid-19-cancellation-of-gcses-as-and-a-levels-in-2020
