GSO Test

Super Curricular

Super curriculars are academic activities that extend your learning beyond the classroom. Unlike extra curriculars (sports, hobbies), super curriculars are strictly subject-related. They demonstrate intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, and independent study skills.

They are useful as they allow students to;

  • Test Subject Fit: Delving into a topic helps you verify that you genuinely enjoy the subject and will remain engaged. This will help with your GCSE, A level and undergraduate options.
  • Develop Critical Thinking: Reading academic journals or debating challenges you to form your own arguments, consider multiple viewpoints, and analyse new information critically.
  • Prepare for Independent Learning: University-style study requires self-motivation and careful research. Taking on super-curricular projects develop these exact study skills.

Students can find these posters in each of their classrooms.
