Maths Department Curriculum Intent

The ambition of our Mathematics curriculum is to support the school vision of enabling every child to achieve more than they think they are capable of achieving.

The intent of our curriculum is:

1. To develop pupils’ numeracy skills in order that they are able to use them effectively in their futures.
2. To present and demonstrate the importance and usefulness of Mathematics in the World and our society therefore contributing to their cultural capital.
3. To widen pupils’ logical thinking and encourage problem solving skills.
4. To encourage pupils to develop a passion for Mathematics.
