Welcome to the Library
The school library strives to provide materials which reflect the school's commitment to equal opportunities and uphold the catholic ethos of the school.
The library consists of books and learning materials which support the needs of the curriculum as well as leisure. The reference section includes specialist encyclopedias and dictionaries. Booklets on local libraries are available. Provision is made for home language materials for pupils for whom English is not their first language.
A separate collection of non-book materials is available. This consists of project files, newspapers, magazines, and pamphlets.
There is a staff library for the use of teaching and non-teaching staff.
Suggestions for additions to stock are always welcome.
Arrangements can be made for publisher's representatives to display their recent publications at school so that staff may select and order text books and other materials.
Book boxes on various subjects can be lent to classes provided there is sufficient material available in the library.
The library uses the Dewey decimal classification and books are shelved accordingly. There is a subject index and classified and author catalogues. A booklet entitled 'Using the Library' is available.
