Sacred Heart is a five form entry school with a balanced intake of ability. Last year there were approximately 800 applications for 120 places. There are equal numbers of girls and boys in most years. Sacred Heart is enriched by the large number of ethnic groups represented, which include, Irish, Afro-Caribbean, African, Vietnamese, Portuguese Spanish and boys and girls of Latin-America ,as well as those of local and European origins. The language skills of the pupils are considerable, with some thirty home languages and about 140 bilingual pupils. The governors and staff have always taken equal opportunitites very seriously.
