St Mary Magdalene

Welcome to St Magdalene House

Mary Magdalene's story is closely linked with Jesus. She plays a starring role in one of the most powerful and important scenes in the Gospels.

When Jesus is crucified by the Romans, Mary Magdalene was there supporting him in his final terrifying moments and mourning his death. She also discovers the empty tomb, and she's a witness to the resurrection. She was there at the beginning of Christianity that transformed the world.

Although she is often remembered as a fallen woman, the story of Mary is about redemption and shows us that no matter how low someone has fallen, it is possible to redeem yourself.

So, we can all learn from the example that Mary Magdalene set of being kind, patient even when times are tough. More importantly, she shows how there is good in every single one of us.

Our Prayer

Saint Mary Magdalene,
woman of many sins, who by conversion
became the beloved of Jesus,
thank you for your witness
that Jesus forgives
through the miracle of love.
You, who already possess eternal happiness
in His glorious presence,
please intercede for us, so that some day
we may share in the same everlasting joy.
St Mary Magdalene, pray for us.
Amen
