VLE (Virtual Learning Environment)
Sacred Heart has recently implemented a Virtual Learning Environment into the school structure. The system framework has been purchased from Fronter. The software is then developed by staff to offer students additional support to the traditional teaching methods used here at Sacred Heart.
A virtual learning environment (VLE) is a software system designed to support teaching and learning in an educational setting. A VLE will normally work over the Internet and provide a collection of tools such as those for assessment (particularly of types that can be marked automatically, such as multiple choice, communication, uploading of content, return of students' work, peer assessment, administration of student groups, collecting and organizing student grades, questionnaires, etc.
We are pleased with the response from students and believe this had a positive impact on their learning. We have praised the students who have regularly used the system.
