The Science and Engineering Club

The science and engineering club meets every week after school.  Members take part in a range of activities related to science and engineering.  Past activities have included building and flying model aeroplanes and rockets, parachute experiments and the design of roller-coasters.  The club runs various trips to museums and locations such as go-kart centres and theme parks which combine fun with learning about scientific principles.  The club is also working on the design and manufacture of a go-kart which they hope to race in the summer.

As part of the design and development of a fully working, petrol driven go kart some of our pupils spent the day researching at the Streatham Go-Kart Centre.  As well as finding out how the Karts worked they took a course in health and safety before taking to the track for a day of racing.
