Vocational Studies - BTEC

BTEC serves to provide pupils with a more practical route to qualifications. Pupils studying a level 2 BTEC are provided with the opportunity to do the equivalent of one GCSE in a vocational subject.

Vocational courses are offered in several subjects. These courses introduce work related learning to pupils and offer a more practical approach. In these courses, pupils will:

  • Gain knowledge, skills and understanding relevant to a broad or specific learning area.
  • Become equipped with some of the skills they will need in the work place or for further training and education.
  • Gain the opportunity to take charge of their own learning and development.
We offer several BTEC qualifications at Sacred Heart School.

In 2015-16, the following course is available at KS4:

  • NQF BTEC Level 1-2 First Award in Construction & the Built Environment (equivalent to 1 GCSE)
