Table Tennis has 3 breakfast clubs per week in which there are always 10 - 20 students that are here for 7am. This has been a great success so far and for me is my most important club as it shows desire and helps the students to be on time for school which is a great bonus. There is also 4 after school clubs which is split in to two sessions, 1 day is an open fun session and the others are for students who are taking it seriously and are training very hard. As well as these there are 4 lunch clubs which are fun and just everyone comes in picks up a bat and can play against friends. We also have a Saturday session every Saturday for the committed students which runs from 8.45am – 1pm.
I make sure anyone that is taking part in Table Tennis has opportunities to compete. We have a greenhouse league in which is 10 vs 10 and so far I have had 17 different students compete in this league which is great.
We as a school made the English schools London finals in both the under 16 girls and boys events which means we are amongst the best schools in London at table tennis.
We also have a group of students that are playing to a good standard, these students have played national tournaments and are training at elite sessions outside of school regularly and are doing very well so far. Names below with some personal achievements:
John Quadri – Competed national Cadet league and is also competing in the London Youth Games.
Dylan Gyambibi - Competed national Cadet league and is also competing in the London Youth Games.
Casey Nickle – Inner London Girls under 16 champion. Qualified for English Schools national finals individuals. Competed national Cadet league and is also competing in the London Youth Games.
Adrian Balbacal – Now a greenhouse performance player which is the highest level we have at Greenhouse. Competed national Cadet league and is also competing in the London Youth Games. Competing in 2* Tournaments which is great.
