Oxbridge programme

Pupils are selected for this group initially on the basis of GCSE grades. There is the opportunity for pupils to gain admission to the group if their work is of a high enough standard in Year 12.

Pupils are invited to an Oxbridge pre Year 12 programme in July where they have talks, workshops and a visit to either Oxford or Cambridge. This gives pupils the opportunity to use the Summer holidays to prepare for the life in the Sixth form and understand the importance of a positive start

The full Year 12 programme starts in September of Year 12 and consists of workshops in study skills, interview skills, networking, communication and writing CVs and personal statements. Pupils are encouraged to read around their subject using the excellent library resources and participate in extracurricular activities.

In 2016/2017 pupils have already attended Master classes at both Oxford and Cambridge.  A number of pupils have been successful in securing places at either Oxford or Cambridge in the past five years. The majority of pupils on the programme gain sought after Russell group places.

In August 2017 these included:
UCL, Kings, Warwick, Birmingham, LSE, York
